Impact Europe’s Collaborate for Impact is a pioneering five-year long project (2020-2025), which aims to develop a more favourable social entrepreneurship ecosystem in Eastern Europe which has seen them bring together civil society actors across the region, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. This work is supported by the European Union.

Peter Cafferkey of Boncerto has been involved with his work with Impact Europe, inputting to the development of a major in-person conference, Impact in the Neighbourhood (28-29 June 2023) in collaboration with local partner, the Center for Strategic Research and Development.

More than 200 attended the Conference in Tiblisi, with participants from throughout Europe, Middle East and North Africa. Issues such as impact investment, corporate contributions, and policy were discussed.

Impact Europe’s podcast below has more from delegates’ perspectives, and you can read more at the website on the discussions. One attendee summed it up succinctly, “We need to stop talking, start working and continue dreaming!”

Tbilisi boot camp

The conference discussions built on the findings of a three-day boot camp in Tbilisi (24 April 2023) on Impact Measurement and Management. Led by Peter Cafferkey it brought together Georgian civil society leaders, social enterprises, and impact investors.

Peter Cafferkey, CEO, Boncerto, said: “I was delighted to host local civil society leaders in Tbilisi for a great boot camp. Impact Europe’s Collaborate for Impact programme is a vital one, built on knowledge sharing and collaboration. It was great to be able to share my experiences and lead discussions in Tbilisi.”
